Concerns of Police Survivors

Since 1997 the Blue Knights have supported and stood by The Concerns of Police Survivors, by supporting the Blue Knights COPSRUN. The Blue Knights COPSRUN is supported by International all the way down to individual members within the Blue Knights.

Every May around the 12 th , Blue Knights head to Washington D.C. for the start of Police Memorial Week, to honor the Officers that have lost their life In The Line of Duty, they also go to honor and stand by the Survivors of these Officer, and to let then know as long as the Blue Knight’s are around these Survivors will never stand alone.

The Blue Knights COPSRUN has for years said that our donation goes to help pay for the Survivors picnic at the end of Police Week, but in fact our monies go to help many of the programs the Concerns of Police Survivors hold every year. The following is a clip of just some of the programs that your donation goes to.

First Annual Cops Ride - Sunday 14 June 2009, Cleveland OH

Every year in the United States, an average of 180 police officers die in the line of duty  leaving behind families and fellow officers to cope with the loss.  As Ohio ranks fifth in our nation for the number of officers lost in the line of duty, Ohio C.O.P.S.  works diligently in extending their helping hand to those who need it most; the survivors

This year, COPS ride has chosen to extend our helping hand to Ohio C.O.P.S

Cell Phones For C.O.P.S.

Charitable Recycling will contribute $1.00 to National Concerns of Police Survivors for every cell phone they receive.  It’s simple.

  • Download a label from the C.O.P.S. website or cut out the label below.
  • Affix the label to a padded envelope and drop it in any mailbox.
  • No postage is necessary.

Old cell phones from evidence rooms, old cell phones in officers’ desks, every one of them could earn C.O.P.S. $1.00
Be sure to spread the work about this unique way to raise funds for an organization that deserves the support.

Public Safety Officers Benefit Program

Bill H.R. 4424

During National Police Week 2006, Concerns of Police Survivors would like to present 50,000 signatures on a petition to Congress to support H.R. 4424. The bill would allow surviving spouses and children of fallen public safety officers to purchase affordable, comprehensive health care through the Federal health care system. This legislation would grandfather families as far back as 1976, the beginning of the Public Safety Officers Benefit program.

With families paying over $900 per month, passage of this bill would allow these families to have better coverage at a more affordable cost.

Please visit http://www.petitiononline.com/hr4424 to sign up NOW!

There are currently 20,000+ signatures.
