Blue Knights® Law Enforcement
Motorcycle Club

Great Lakes Regional Conference
.

We are pleased to be able to bring you this site so you may learn more about 'what' we do and 'who' we do it with.   This conference joins 7 USA States and Canadian Provinces together to represent one of the largest geographical areas in the world.  We have 88 Chapters, holding 2,658 members as of Aug 2009.

~ Let's welcome three new chapters to the GLRC this year ~

 One of our members needs our help;

This is where the Blue Knights family shines. When we need help, everybody always pitches in and helps out. Below is an e-mail from Indiana III Vice-President Mike Hornbrook. I won't parrot his letter, but will ask for your help. State Reps. please pass this e-mail onto your chapters.

Riding With Pride,

John P. T. Gordon
International Representative

Great Lakes Regional Conference

I was able to make contact with Bill (Bam Bam) Brown from Indiana 1 (Muncie, IN). They agreed to open an account in Muncie where Dick and Diana live. All money that is donated will go to Dick and Diana to help against maintaining her insurance while she is off work and staying with  Dick at the hospital.

Here is the latest information from tonight's conversation: Diana said that Dick is still in critical condition and still in an induced coma. He is still on the ventilator and kidney dialysis
machine. His pancreas is still the same, but the doctor said that is good news in a sense. Dick is requiring less and less oxygen from the ventilator which is good news.

The doctor told Diana that it is their hope to pull him partially off the kidney dialysis machine and maybe only use it every other day. The doctor is hoping to kick start his kidneys to get them working. It is the doctor's hopes that eventually the pancreas will start to improve,  but there is no guarantee.

With everyones prayers and thoughts Dick has been fighting back and Diana and Steve are holding up fairly well. Diana and Steve wanted to thank everyone!!

Let's keep the prayers rolling in. Dick is not a quitter and I know he  will fight. Let's help him out.

You can send in your donations to the address below:

Thanks Indiana I for your assistance

Regional Conference Dues:

All chapters benefit from the work that is accomplished through our regional conference executives. The majority of the chapters pay their dues ($20.00 US per chapter) each year to show their support for the membership.  If your chapter doesn't pay it's dues, your Chapter President (or their representative) will not be able to vote at the Conference Meetings.  Don't you want to be heard?

Mail your newsletters / flyers and conference dues to;

Travelers Pin Contest:

This pin is designed to appeal to the snob in each of us, and must be EARNED which is half the fun. To do so, members and their wives/ husbands/ girlfriends/ boyfriends must first signify their intent to qualify with a registration fee. Then the fun starts!! You must ride to the outskirts of a city/town that has as its first initial one of the letters in the phrase:

B L U E   K N I G H T S   G R E A T   L A K E S

Obtain a photograph of your bike parked at the city or town limit sign with your plate and the name of the town visible.

When 21 photos are received at the Great Lakes Region, your pin will be sent to you. The towns and cities can be located in any of the states or province comprising the G.L.R.C. and can be done in any order. No duplicates can be used for the double letters, L, G, K, E, A, T or S... we can hear the maps rustling now!

Here is your chance to do a little  boasting and increase your pin collection simultaneously.

Click for Document Application or Click for Adobe Application

This is the photo for the letter G - we had to obtain a second letter G as well.
Hint: use a yellow highlighter and mark your map with the different names to maximize your route directions and avoid back tracking as much as possible.
